Professional sumo is coming to the Curtis Culwell Center! See elite athletes from around the world collide in fast-paced bouts where strength, balance, and one perfectly timed move can decide everything.

The Sumo Championship League comes to the Curtis Culwell Center on February 13, 2027, bringing one of the world’s oldest combat sports to Garland with a modern professional arena experience.

SCL features more than 50 elite athletes from four continents, competing in bouts where the outcome can change in a matter of seconds. Every match combines the tradition of sumo with the intensity of live competition, giving longtime fans and first-time spectators plenty to get into from the opening collision to the final bow. This is also a competition that builds throughout the season. Results from each bout contribute to the Sumo Power Rankings, shaping rivalries and the road toward the SCL Annual Championship later in 2027.

Designed as an experience for fans of all ages, SCL gives families a chance to see professional sumo up close while experiencing the sport’s tradition, athleticism, and split-second action live inside the Curtis Culwell Center.
